Kit Officer Required

We need a new Kit Officer to join the ranks of the Berkhamsted CC committee. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who wishes to get more involved with the club and who can spare a little time (and ideally has a little space) to organise and distribute kit to members.

Here’s a description of the role provided by Elias, our current Kitmeister.

Role description
The kit officer role has two peaks of work to do per year. In the Spring and in the Autumn. The rest of the year it’s a very quiet role.

Responsibilities:

  • Update the website and place orders.
  • Place the order with suppliers.
  • When the order arrives, get in touch with members to arrange collection.
  • Update stock with any spares purchased.
  • Occasionally arrange a refund if a piece of kit is returned, as I tend to accept returns if it’s a ‘popular’ size which should sell eventually.
  • Answer questions from members regarding kit (when, how, etc).
  • Think about possible new kit to be developed to keep people interested in the shop.

I will still be able to help with the design side of things, so the kit officer only need to check suppliers, samples and costs.

You’ll need space for a couple of boxes with kit somewhere in your house (garage etc) and have a few time slots in the week available for members to collect their orders. If you’re not at home, hiding outside to be collected can work too!.

It’s a very social role; a great opportunity to meet and chat to members you might not ride with. Elias will be happy with work alongside the new kit officer helping with next Spring’s order.

If you fancy the role but lack the space to store or time to distribute, please still get in touch as we may be able to find a seperate storage and distribution solution.

Email chair@berkocc.com if interested.
